Redacted Milk Company Minecraft Server - MultiMC Edition

Introduction

This page is a supplemental page to the one to install the FTB App/Overwolf.  MultiMC is a launcher just like the FTB App/Overwolf program is.  MultiMC can be used in place of FTB App/Overwolf and is generally lighter, faster, and doesn't show you ads during Minecraft launch.

This document will only concern itself with Downloading MultiMC, configuring it to download the FTB Academy package, installing the additional mods, and logging into your Minecraft account. The additional mod list can be found on the index page you came from, or in the #mod-list channel on the Discord Server.

Installation

  1. Download the MultiMC Development Version for Windows.  The Development version is the only version that supports new FTB packs like FTB Academy.
  2. Extract the contents to any folder on the disk you want Minecraft installed on.
  3. Double click MultiMC.exe to open it
  4. In the title bar, click on Settings. Then make sure "Update Channel" is "Development". If it is not, set it to "Development" then close and relaunch MultiMC. If it is set to "Development" already, close this window.
  5. Click the "Profiles" menu item in the top right and click "Manage Accounts".
  6. Click "Add" on the right and enter your Minecraft account credentials. When done, close this settings window.
  7. Click on "Add Instance"
  8. Select "FTB" on the left and search for FTB Academy. This list can take a few minutes to load. Be patient.
  9. Select FTB Academy in the result list and double check "Version selected" at the bottom is 1.4.0. Then click "OK"

Installing Mods

  1. From MultiMC, click the FTB Academy icon, then Instance Folder on the right.
  2. Open the minecraft folder, then the mods folder.
  3. Put the 4 Mod .jar files here.  Unzip the archive if you downloaded that from the Discord server.

Starting and Connecting

After installation, you can start the mod pack from MultiMC by double clicking the FTB Academy icon.

This will download a few more files to run Minecraft and then the game will continue to launch.

Click on Multiplayer and add a server with the address found in #server-info in the Discord server.

From here you can connect to the server and be overwhelmed with joy as 20 missiles are launched at you automatically.
